STORMY ORDER: "Get out of Wailea" Bainimarama shouted at Rosy Akbar as she helped squatters during flooding on Saturday evening; her own house was damaged - Bainimarama and his military must be in news!

STORMY ORDER: Bainimarama wipes smiles off Akbar's face at Wailea

The preparation for 2018 election has begun - remember Aiyaz Khaiyum's D'Hondt Electoral System requires party leader to poll the highest number of votes and Bainimarama's political ducklings, even with 500 votes, will all end up as FijiFirst Party MPs in Parliament and as Cabinet Ministers. Rebellious MPs and Cabinet Ministers can be dumped, and those candidates who lost out, called up to replace them - for there is no by-election provision. There is no room for dissent in the dictatorship!

Yes I was right. Bainimarama is not to be trusted with cyclone donation money because he will use it for election campaigning, promoting himself as the Dear Leader who feels for the plight of his people. The only thing that drives the coupist is doing whatever it takes by hook and crook to maintain his hold on power.
To this end, he and his military mates must hog the centre stage in the disaster relief and rebuilding effort.

It is never the time for " negativity" for the gang in power and their sapotas. Yours is a furtile attempt to silence criticism.

The PM has drawn on military counter insurgency strategy to color code on a map areas that are "bainimarama friendly" and those that are "enemy territory" for him and his FFP Party. He will use financial resources donated to the response effort to prosecute a *hearts and mind* campaign for his re-election under his D'Hondt electoral system. That's why I am donating money not to the NDMO where it will be used for Bai's chopper meet and greet program but I will be giving to different NGOs

Am curious as to which areas that have been labelled as being "enemy territory". Can you please tell us.

Or is this another figment of your imagination?

U are obviously not learned and very widely read. It shows in your stupid questions. Go do your own research before u comment here

Obviously you are the only 'learned' one here. I am asking for the evidence to enable me to make up my own mind about the conclusions you are drawing.

You are making a very serious allegation that needs to be investigated.

Based on your response above it seems you are angry at being asked to share your evidence.

I can only conclude that you are engaged in misinformation at this very serious time. Only low-life rascals do this at a time of crisis i.e. take advantage of vulnerable people to push a political anti-government agenda.

If you are the expert on 'insurgency' then you will know that misleading the people and undermining the efforts of the civil authorities and the government in power is part of the insurgent strategy.

Vili, what about taking advantage of vulnerable people at a time of crisis to push a pro - ruling party political agenda? Is that an acceptable and ethical way for the " government in power " to proceed?

I am along with hundreds of other readers of this site, outraged at the inept and unfair manner in which government is handling the relief effort. The withholding of pictures from Vanua Balavu when everyone with a basic knowledge of the Cyclone's path would know that the island would take a direct hit is mind boggling, You are obviously not concerned about it. I search for a logical reason to understand why it should have happened, Anyone with a rudimentary knowledge of disaster relief systems knows that there is a national network and procedures for handling the supplies and the response effort. These are people who have been highly trained. Why is the PM hogging it, that he is the only to be seen to be responding to the plight of the people such as restraining his own Minister from responding to the plight of Vatuwaqa squatters, What evidence do you want when the moral of the govt;s actions and inactions are clear for all to see? If the Govt plays by the rules and impresses us with the efficiency and effectiveness of its response I'd be the first person to give praise

If we accept as true what this fellow Pita is saying about the Government 'colour-coding' areas that are friendly (to which priority of relief supplies are directed) and black areas that are deemed 'enemy territory' (which are relegated in the relief queue) then it is clear from the PM's visits and government priorities that the 'friendly' areas are (1) Koro (2) Rakiraki, especially Balata and Drauniivi (3) Tailevu North (the PM visited Qelekuro recently) and of the Northern Division where the French are landing supplies in Taveuni and elsewhere.

No matter that these areas were the most devastated by the cyclone. For Pita and his fellow insurgents (or scumbags whichever way you view them), the facts should not stand in the way of their anti-government propaganda and disinformation.

There is no praise of the efforts of the civilian authorities and the military in delivering relief to an injured and traumatised population.

The best the ethno-nationalists like Pita can offer is to dream up this preposterous 'colour coding' strategy that serves to undermine the hardworking honest people who are out there providing relief and comfort to Winston's victims. They deserve praise not condemnation at this time.

We need to vigilant about these low-life BS artists like Pita who will do their very best to condemn but who are not prepared themselves to go out and walk the talk. Sa rauta mada na lasu Pita

Rosie's well meaning intentions notwithstanding, she is not superwoman and should stop trying to behave like one. What she needs is a strategy to get the squatters out of Wailea on do and for all into proper housing. That requires planning, throughout, strategies, etc to get government and private sector provide the funds. It's hard work but more effective than trying to do everything alone superwoman style.

Damn if I visit the affected areas and damn if I don't.

It reminded me of kadar khan's famous dialogue to tell the media that if the PM goes by plane to the disaster area say that he is wasting money. And if he goes by train, say that the people are crying and he is taking ages to reach the affected area.

Who is genuine and who is not is not for us to judge.

Pita, has former PM Qarase who complained that his $600,000 compensation was too little, given anything to Vanua Balavu on the same scale that the Rosa family has and who you say are hardworking, honest types which I have no doubt they are?

And give me one good reason why Vanua Balavu (population ?) should take priority over other areas who are more productive per head of population in terms of the national economy?
