Bainimarama was elected to run Fiji and not run around the world over climate change but who can blame him: $3000 a day travelling allowance!

How has military man Bainimarama become Sugar Minister? Well, in a dictatorship you don't really need to be qualified to assume a position, do you? I mean look at the mediocre lawyer Khaiyum. He is now the Minister for Everything in Fiji with Bainimarama as his puppet. Is it any surprise that the sugar industry is still ailing ? The country is ailing !

Fiji is a Banana Republic. Fiji should grow more bananas. And, Bainimarama should be baptised Banana Minister. He can still travel around the world to look at others bananas and still pick up his $3000 a day travelling allowance.

Well said Fijileaks. This man Voreqe thinks we are stupid. He has been in power for 11 years and still pointing fingers at others. Yet he goes overseas and tells the world that he does not finger point in Fiji. How long will you lie. Your life is lie. Get a life and go back to the Navy or the cassava patch in Nabua. You loser. Leave us alone and let us find the real democracy when the the Parliament can belong to the Fijian people again and not to ASK aka Arse. We can save our own sugar industry. You have run through a cassava patch all soiled but have not even planted cassava. You and your Arse Stop telling us about sugar cane!

Where is Marika Qarikau now? Did the curse of an evicted farmer who lost his family livelihood overnight get him?
Marika Qarikau had the benefit of university education. That did not stop him from embarking on a racist, anti-Indian campaign to terminate cane farm leases and evict them without any empathy.
No education does not necessarily enlighten. We have had a lot of educated people throw in their lot with the reactionary forces that surfaced with every coup.

The Manchester music concert bomber responsible for killing 22 young people including children and injuring 59 others had the benefit of university level education ( ' Manchester suicide bomber Salman Abedi studied at Salford University' Telegraph.co.uk)...
What use did he put all his good education to?

Running away from responsibility is an old Bainimarama trait. Remember that time when he ran through the cassava patch leaving his men behind to fight the soldiers' fight?

True to its Fiji Theft Party core, Bai and Khai stole the climate change alarmist mantra from Abote Tong, when the latter was President of Kiribati. His term has since expired and is now an ordinary citizen. But Bai and Khaiyum realised the mileage that can be got nationally and internationally by beating the climate change drum. But whereas Kiribati and Tuvalu can point to real live evidence of sea level rise and coastal inundation the best Fiji has to offer is a narrow bit of coastal erosion on the foreshore of Kumi Village in Verata, home village of Minister for Natural Disaster, India Seriiratu. The proper person to chair COP23 is the Tuvaluan Prine Minister, Enele Sopianga, who as former ambassador to the UN speaks from experience and passion on climate change and sea level rise. COP23 would have far greater effect if it were held in Funafuti or Tarawa than Suva or Nadi. And the worst person to put up as Smbassador for Climate Change is the overweight bullfrog, Colonel Seruiratu who exudes an image of gluttony derived from privilege and contentment rather than someone representing the supposedly suffering Pacific Islanders. All in all a bumbling execution of yet another con job by Khaiyum and his lapdog Bai

One issue is renewal of leases to existing tenants getting denied by Government of Rabuka pre 2000. I say government is because NLTB were merely trustees to lease money for the landowners. The ALTA land was already gifted land by Landowners to the State. Landowners no longer had any right over those land unless Govt surrenders those land back to them.

NLTB had no rights over the land as in decision making for not renewing the lease unless the land was no longer used for economic life of the nation, i.e. purpose of the land status coming under ALTA.

2nd issue is Govt owing $1.5m lease money to the trustee NLTB. It was a matter of debt collection issue that NLTB could have filed in Court against the Government.

But politicians scam against the farmers and voters by manipulating facts i.e. land could never have been legally snatched by landowners upon expiry of lease from current tenants. It was wholly the Government and parliament matter.

The issue of the past is not an issue to current cane farmers. For them it s the now....what will the Minister for Sugar be able to put on their plate TOMORROW after more than a decade of Bainimarama rule! Forget Qarikau and Nawaikula.....they would not feed the farmers......its the current Government's turn now to put in place policies that would help farmers survive......so PM and AG ...what will it be? Forget Qarase, Chaudary, Rabuka, Bavadra and Ratu Mara....the ball is squarely in your Court! Come on put Fiji FIRST!!!!

The only idea bai and Kai have of helping the sugar industry is handouts hoping to quieten the farmers and it hasn't worked. Putting a electrician Abdul Khan to run fsc which Vishnu Mohan said is almost bankrupt shows the cluelessness of this govt. Anyway khan made 2.4 million in directors fees so somebody did win eh.

There are a few other Khans doing the same... .making director's fee for an airline after being a telephone salesman. And thankfully "fairness has prevailed and a non Muslim" got the job of RBF governor. Hope he's not a plumber trying to oversee the RBF, like his electrician buddy from FSC.
