                                    Fijileaks Editor:

(1) How is this trip relevant to Kubuabola's Foreign Ministery portfolio, when both financing and development fall under the Minister of Finance Aiyaz Khaiyum?

(2) Did Kubuabola get a clearance from Aiyaz Khaiyum?

(3) Why is Kubuabola stopping in Dubai on return for 3 days when it is the weekend and the Ambassador to UAE Robin Nair is not at the Post to brief him?

(4) Is it to gossip with his two ultra nationalist staff members (Salusalu and Rakai) at the Fiji Embassy?

(5) Or is it to fill in time before Kubuabola's Medical appointment timing during his stopover in Shanghai?

                                    Fijileaks Editor:

(1) How long is Kubuabola stopping in Shanghai?

(2) Can Kubuabola inform the Fijian taxpayers how many times in the last three years he has stopped in Shanghai for Medical Treatments?

(3) Who has been paying for the Medical Bills incurred in Shanghai?

(4) Is it true that either the CHINESE Government or a Chinese businessman is paying for these visits and costs?

(5) Who is paying for the hotel stopover in Shanghai?

(6) Who is paying for the extra cost of flying back from Ethiopia to Fiji via Shanghai?

(7) Or has Kubuabola faked a reason for stopping in Shanghai to visit the Consulate General, which is largely a commercial/trade post and comes under the responsibility of the Ministry of Trade and Tourism?

The rules governing democratic accountability and transparency etcc apply to lesser mortals, not coupist Kubuabola.that is the kind of new true democracy they have installed in Fiji.

Editor,
John Williams tells us in his letter ' North Korea governs by fear ' (the Age 1/7) that " During nearly six months residency in North Korea under UN auspices I quickly gained an understanding of how that country is governed - it is by fear. (That's how) government maintains political control"
We have a reasonably good idea of what that kind of governance entails from all the coups we have had and the political culture of fear that it that they iosed on the people .
Many respond to the rule by fear to becoming a sychant of the rulers.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Abuse is as much present today as it was in previous governments as the same people are running the show. Kubuabola has been around for ages and is an opportunists. Change in government won't solve our problems. We need a wholesale change in mentality of people and the way we carry out recruitments.

Editor,
It is wrong and hypocritical to draw attention to and criticise and condemn threats to democratic good governance elsewhere in Fiji, in Africa m Latin America etc and ignore the same in ones on backyard.let me therefore point out an example from Australia.we learn from the Guardian 1/7 article ' Detention centre staff speak out in defiance of new asylum secrecy laws' that more than 40 social workers, doctors, nurses, teachers and humanitarian staff who have worked inside Australian detention centres have united in an unprecedented show of defiance against new laws that could see workers in detention centres jailed for speaking out about abuses. The say they do not want to repeat the mistakes of past abuses at State institutions and church residential care homes where staff did not speak out.they challenge the government to prosecute them for disclosing abusse at detention centres.
Yes,secrecy is the hallmark of tyranny and Australia is suppose to be an advanced democracy.but the ruling mob seem to be hell bent on degrading Australian democracy with their totalitarian tendencies.right thinking people join the detention centre staff-the conscientious objectors - to deplore this anti-democratic tendency displayed by the Australian political power holders.
Sincerely,
