Dear Customer,

We are pleased to announce that from Friday 1st April Digicel will take over the operations of Sky Pacific.  We are excited about this milestone and we would therefore inform you about some important changes.

The start of this is the introduction of two new channels in April - TVWAN and TVWAN Sports. The inclusion of TVWAN Sports means that viewers will now be able to enjoy even more high quality sports events 24 hours a day. The other channel, TVWAN will have a range of regional and international news, some popular TV soap operas and drama serials and plenty of other great programs. This channel will also include lifestyle and business stories from the Pacific.

For the many rugby fans across Fiji and the Pacific, the entire 2016 Super Rugby tournament and the Rugby Championship will be screened live on the Super Channel.  For the ever- popular World Rugby 7s Series, all games from the Hong Kong 7s, Singapore 7s, London 7s and Paris 7s will also be screened live on the Super Channel.

Another important change relates to the broadcast of Fiji One on Sky Pacific. In order to comply with Section 42a of the Media Industry Development Decree 2010, Digicel is required to remove all local content from the Sky programming when we take over operations.  Regrettably, this means Fiji One and the Pacific Channel will be removed from the Sky Pacific service from April 1, 2016.

Digicel would like to advise that all existing payment channels remain the same and in addition all Digicel stores will now accept Sky Pacific payments from 1st April.

We plan to update you again over the coming weeks about several more exciting changes that we are sure will be very popular for customers of Sky Pacific.

Vinaka,

Editor,
Obtaining Nirvana
In his letter ' Life's vocation' Sachida Nath reminds us of the quote " the meaning of life is to find our gift and talent " and to share it ( FT 25/03 ).
Different people clearly have different gifts and talents to share. We learn from folomojo 24/03 that a 43 y o Pakistani man wants to have 100 children with his wives. He already has 35( ' This Pakistani father wants 100 children - has 35 already! ').
Now how about that for a contribution to a better humanity!!
And, Aiyaz would have his " life's vocation" and Frank would would have his...
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

People need to see the reason behind the restriction on showing any local content placed by Khaiyum and the Fiji First Party on the new owners of Sky, Its all about mind conrol, Khaiyum controls both Fiji TV and FBC TV, the latter though his brother the CEO, and through this channel they are able to promote the values they want and down play those they don't want. Culture, religion, old links are out, and are being replaced by neutral values of where everyone is :Fijian," This is the new Fiji and national consciousness that the FFP through the help of the US PR group, Qovis, is actively promoting

Senior reporter Kate McClymount revelations a good amount of that in her excellent article ' Liberal Party backers were approached to buy Senator Arthur Sinodinos a home' ( smh 23/03).
And Greg Thomson says in his letter to smh 25/03 it is time for a royal commission into allegations of widespread money laundering and corruption in the Liberal Party.
Surely, gaining political power using corrupt funding is just as important as Union malpractices?
Was there any such funding which facilitated the ruling party from " gaining political power " in the sept 2014 elections in Fiji?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

That is right on the button Pita. Khai has been treading on hallowed and dangerous ground for far too long. We have tried to persuade him to cease from antagonising the masses of silent but watchful public. The more he does what he does, the more secure he feels about himself. Unfortunately, he does not want to heed the lessons of history and because of that, he will have himself, QORVIS and Bai to blame for his certain ignominious end.

Khaiyum, if you are reading Victor's columns, please stop and have a serious think about the path you are walking. It will lead you to death and great misfortune, for you and all those you love. Please stop, it is never too late to repent and take a different path, where the respect of your fellow men and women is paramount.
