The Gaunavinakagate:

Fijileaks understands the following:

* The Investigation Committee has reportedly concluded that the opening of the SODELPA OPPOSITION account at ANZ by Ro Kepa, Ratu Isoa Tikoca, Salote Radrodro and Mick Beddoes was not authorised by the Party nor did the Management Board resolved that it be used for staffing.

* The action by the four has been reportedly labelled very serious by the investigators.

* The Investigation Committee has reportedly resolved that in accordance with the Political Parties (Registration, Funding, Conduct and Disclosures) Decree 4 of 2013 section 21(1)(c) the $225,000 was a grant from a lawful source and under section 17 of the same decree the party has to account for the grant in its 2014 - 2015 audited report.

* Because it was not deposited in the official party account than the party cannot account it.

The party, Fijileaks* understands, will be answerable to the Registrar under section 18 of the decree and the party could be de-registered under section 19 of the same decree if it fails in its duty under section 18.

* The "Four" allegedly acted without the knowledge and consent of the party and now the party will have to account for the $225,000 in its audited report that shall be submitted to the Registrar for Elections.

* The Management Board of the party did not receive the grant nor did it use it, the question is how will the party show in its audit report that it used the grant?

Fijileaks could not obtain a comment from the SODELPA headquarters.

Should anybody be surprised if Media Gestapo Ashwin Raj is appointed Director of Fiji Human Rights Commission?
Wasn't he part of the regime mob who went to Geneva to lie about the rogue regime's human rights record?
I mean if people like that is not rewarded for their sycophantic support for the Thug Rulers of Fiji, who is to be rewarded - the critics?

Its is a mandatory requirement of Fiji's Constitution that the chairperson of the Human Rights Commission must be a person who is or is qualified to be appointed as a judge. The question then, is Ashwin Raj qualified under the
Constitution?

The President appoints the chairperson on the advice of the Constitutional Offices Commission. This may mean that this would have been our new President's appointment since taking the office.

Ashwin Raj has one qualification that super cedes all other " mandatory requirements " for appointment. He is a Bainimarama- Khaiyum lackey. What better person to have in the Fiji Human Rights Commission to sweep regime human rights abuses under the carpet?

SECRECY HAS NO PLACE IN A DeMOCRACY
In her letter to The Age 24/11 Margaret Beavis, president Medical Association for Prevention of War, Australia spells out the indispensable requirements for democratic good governance.
That clearly has relevance for Fiji following its return to democracy after some 8 years of dictatorship.
Margaret writes :
" Australia is still supposedly a democracy which requires transparency and accountability from those in power. These characteristics also ensure that governments doing the wrong thing get removed from office.( the same is true for the Opposition ).
The fate of the latest asylum seeker boat, containing families who have come to us looking for protection, is secret. Also concealed are the terrible health impacts of imprisonment on Christmas Is, Manus and Nauru.
This Secrecy Has No Place In A Democracy.
There would be no need to hide if we are doing the right thing. ( How true is that! ). "Not commenting on operational matters " is the stuff of Police States.
We need to end off shore detention, return to community processing after initial screening, invest in serious regional processing framework and share more of the international refugee burden.
Australia can do much better".
And Fiji can do much better if " those in power " to borrow Margaret's expression, can genuinely commit to transparency, accountability and public scrutiny in the conduct of government business.
The same it goes without saying is true for the alternative government in waiting ( the Opposition ).
At the rate the Opposition in Fiji is going they'd be waiting for a heck of a long time!

Isn't that pretty much the norm in international relations, to ignore
Human rights abuses when it is politically expedient to do so?
All the Melanesian countries have ignored human rights abuses in West Papua, including Fiji to curry favour with Indonesia.
Many more examples can be cited but that is not necessary. The point is made.

The Opposition is the Reason for THIS Government!!

What Choices the People had? Khaiyum's Puppet -v- the Monkeys? The People chose Khaiyum's Puppet, thank you very much.

The Opposition cant even manage a petty cash of a $225K - Imagine our countries Treasury and all the Chinese Bribes that are rapidly pouring in.

No, I don't blame Khaiyum for clearly implying the Opposition are MONKEYS -by his very smart monkey act.

FHRC, Raj and Khaiyum's FRAUD 2013 Constitution

This gnomic Raj after strangling Fiji’s ‘freedom of expression ‘to near death, is now out to strangle (to death) our Human Rights (or whatever little is left of it).

The politics of patronage and cronyism is at its peak, shameless recycling and rewarding old loyalist, to positions of power over their mini fiefdoms.

FHRC is another lackey organization. Now with funding from the overseas mop (NZ & Australia) FHRC will become the ideal launching pad for MARKETING Khaiyum’s FRAUD 2013 Constitution of Fiji.

Before this Raj led, bull-shit, fanfare and festivity of selling Khaiyum’s FRAUD 2013 Constitution begins ‘We the People’ must remember three things;

Firstly - Khaiyum’s FRAUD 2013 Constitution is an IMPOSED Document.

Secondly – Khaiyum’s FRAUD 2013 Constitution is a FRAUD Document - because it ‘presupposes’ to represent the general ‘will’ of the People of Fiji – when in FACT it does NOT represent the general ‘will’ of the People of Fiji.

Thirdly - and most importantly, Khaiyum’s FRAUD 2013 Constitution is inconsistent with the Spirit of the Living (and legal) Peoples’ 1997 Constitution of Fiji.
