Jagath Karunaratne who is charged in relation to writing seditious comments in public places four years ago claims Police Chief of Investigations and Intelligence, ACP Henry Brown had threatened him while he was in custody at CID headquarters in Toorak.

During cross-examination by DPP lawyer, Lisiate Fotofili, Karunaratne said that Brown had instructed the CID officers to prepare Karunaratne to be taken to the Military camp.

He told Chief Magistrate, Usaia Ratuvili that Brown had said to his officers that when his beaten up black and blue, Karunaratne would not know what to do. Karunaratne further claimed in court that Brown had also said that he will be hung upside-down by a telephone wire and he will not be sitting as he is sitting.

DPP lawyer, Lisiate Fotofili then put to Karunarate that he has fabricated these things but Karunaratne maintained that he was threatened and intimidated by Police officers while in custody. The trial continues in the Suva Magistrates Court. Source: Fijivillage News

How Brown is sitting in that powerful chair is anyone's guess.

This is the new trend in Fiji, all those who wipe government's a....will be rewarded.

Once just a driver, Brown has climbed the ladder much faster than others who still looking for the ladder to climb despite having higher education and qualifications

So how many opponents of the Bainimarama dictatorship did ACPHenry Brown arrange transportation to the Military Camp to curry favour with the dictator and his running dogs in the military?
Did ACP Brown start leaking brown stuff after the Bainimarama takeover and forgot his Police Oath to do the right thing by the public under the rule of law?

Isn’t it wonderful to see how passionately politicized our naturalized Sri-Lankan Fijians are?

Karunaratne and Kakonda [Mr. Chairman] are two obvious examples. Both Seditionist - depending on the eye of the beholder.

The up-sucker Kokonda, by shameless patronage to the Dictator, has lost count of his “chairmanship” in the Dictator appointed ‘board of directors’ in Fiji’s State Owned Enterprises, including the Workers’ FNPF.

Chairman Kokonda just recently, quite unlawfully and openly, ‘bribed’ the former Dictator (and the former Dictator gracelessly accepted) for the former Dictator to take his family to see rugby in London. The ‘bribe’ money came from Workers’ pension fund. SHAME!

Whereas the Freedom fighter, Karunaratne, on the other hand, stands charged with Seditionist?

Sorry DPP, you got the wrong end of the stick, the wrong Lankan, the wrong Seditionist!

Editor,
Tristam Elliot (The Age 4/11 ) tells us the Syrian president Bashar al-Asaad " is an old-line secular Arab dictator along the lines of Saddam Hussein. So long as you accept his rule, you are all right, you opposed him, look out..."
Does that remind you of some other dictator closer to home even if not in the same class as Asaad or Saddam Hussein but who had ( has ) the same intolerance for any opposition to his rule?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Editor,
I am perplexed by the Fiji Times news report ( 4/11 ) that " The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions yesterday successfully opposed the bail application of a soldier ( Pita Matairavula ) on assault charges on the grounds he was evading arrest by being at military barracks where police were refused entry".
I thought military rule had ended in Fiji following the conduct of a democratic election after 8 years of military rule.
And in a democracy everyone must be subservient to the rule of law, and that includes the military.
Perhaps Fiji has a somewhat different kind of democracy where the military considers itself a privileged institution of the state not bound by the rule of law in the same way as the ordinary citizenry?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Saamjha. Not Interpol. Because Sri Lanka itself is a corrupt country. They wont list their corrupt people on the Interpol list.
Victor needs to make some Sri Lankan friends to dig info from Sri Lanka.
