* Rajesh Chandra accused of holidaying instead of cutting short his trip and returning to USP; he only came back at the weekend;
* USP has not yet done anything- let alone send volunteers to help the Winston victims;
* While no one had power in Suva, his house was full on with a generator even when he was not around;
* It is alleged that his cousin/friend was in the house while he was away;
* He had not sent any messages to his staff, or students, many whose parents have been affected

USP VC Rajesh Chandra is a colonial twit and tyrant in black skin. The " Indian Maharaja " is apt descriptor for him. His position as VC has always been about his self-aggrandisement. It's a shame on the intellectual community in Fiji and the South Pacific to have elevated such a mediocre man to such a high position in the premier institution of higher education is the region.

You are a racist. Was it necessary to refer to the VC's skin colour? The USP is a regional and not a national institution. Suva was outside the path of TC Winston so why should the VC abort his holiday to return to Fiji. It is best that he enjoys his holiday and returns with fully recharged batteries to service the regional institution. At least Profession Chandra has high level degrees and publications in refereed journals plus experience in management at the university prior to becoming VC whereas the acting VC of our national university doesn;t even have a diploma or a degree. Why don't u go chase him and put him in the spotlight

The Indian Maharaja Rajesh Chandra was holidaying and USP did not do anything in the aftermath of the cyclone. But public spirited individual members of the USP went out to help the victims.

That's not only what He is capable of demanding. Only his place had shutters. No other buildings were protected until much later. His house has been regularly renovated while most lecturer theatres remain in a mess. Does anyone check who he hires and at what salary and inducement? Does anyone Che k who gets contracts for all work and businesses with USP? Just try looking into it! There are reasons he is called a Maharaja!

The most challenging tasks of any executive, a VC in this case, is to train his executives as a well oiled machine, which can work better in his absence.

I think the VC did just that in this case. So let him enjoy his well deserved holiday.

Those complaining are losers and people with professional jealousy.
