Siddiq Koya was a politician of immense note in his time. He was the Leader of Opposition and in that role of holding the Government to account he was mostly a very respected Member of Parliament.
By contrast Faiyaz Koya his son is a politician of no note. A mediocre man who has become a MP by joining the ruling Fiji First Theft Party of coupist Bainimarama and Khaiyum. He is a political parasite deserving only contempt. Koya senior would be ashamed to have a son sucking up to the rogue leaders of Fiji Like father like son does not apply in Faiyaz Koya's case.

And wearing a bow tie like his father just shows this mediocre fala is basking in the political glory of his distinguished father . He is only there because of his father's name. He has achieved nothing .

From what I understand, Siddiq Koya was truly as patriotic as AD Patel since I assume them both to be founding fathers of the country's oldest party that so far has won once in the elections if I remember my history correctly.

Clearly there was peace and prosperity apart from a very legitimate constitution in 1970 from these pictures I see here.....until some moron in 1987 was worried that the indigenous Fijians were being threatened.

I have very different views on AD Patel and Siddiq Koya. From what I heard for older generations.

Siddiq Koya maybe patriotic. But it was face value. He wanted Fiji to be Hub of particular religion in the pacific.

AD Patel. He fooled Indians. When independence was given Then Government wanted to give land ownership to whoever occupied that land at that time. This was for agriculture and of course Sugar Industry. But AD Patel had lot of land under HIS ownership( though leases. Not sure if they were Native lands) He would lose most of lands under his control. So he changed the mind of them Government and along came Native land leases and Crown lands.

But I want someone to correct me if I am wrong. This info is only through older generation who I chat with.
