The NFP's accountants who audited the party's accounts are Certified Practising Accountants (CPA Australia) but not members of CPP; what about the Government Whip Sudhakar and error riddled Companies Bill?

"I can certainly say that this draconian circumstances under which we operate has never, ever existed in the history of Fiji until this latest
coup maker was elected into power."
- NFP President Tupou Draunidalo

Fijileaks: The NFP auditors are members of FIA but they don't have the public practice certificate from FIA; Meanwhile, shouldn't the wannabe Ba lawyer and Government Whip Ashneel Sudhakar be reprimanded or even sacked for presiding over the hastily passed Companies Act which contains over 300+ ERRORS - now two local lawyers have been drafted in to clean up the legal mess left behind  by Sudhakar- 'Mr Mortein' - not to mention the thousands of dollars to be paid to the two lawyers!

As Aiyaz Khaiyum's nephew and Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem hastily reports National Federation Party to FICAC for investigation, it has emerged that the NFP's accountants at the centre of political storm are Certified Practising Accountants, Australia. In 2013, after the NFP was registered under Khaiyum's Political Parties Decree,  APNR Accountants (Suite 1A, FHL Properties, 41 Gladstone Rd, Suva) submitted the audited accounts for 2013 on behalf of the party and it did the same for 2014. Saneem (aka Uncle Khaiyum) did not complain then. Now they have lumped 2013 and 2014 together. The firm, run by Labasa born Ziya Khan and others, does auditing for many big companies and FRCA accepts it all. Saneem says NFP's accounts were not audited by an Fiji Institute of Accountants (FIA)  certified accountant - he means it should have been audited by the likes of Aunty Nur Bano Ali or Nalin Patel of G. Lal and Co. Documents obtained by Fijileaks reveal that on 6 January 2016, the accountancy firm wrote to Saneem as follows:

"Good Afternoon, Dear Mr Saneem, We refer to your letter dated 06/01/2016. In this regard, we advise that we are not a member of CPP (Fiji). Furthermore, we would advise that we are member of Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia). (Find attached CPA Certificate). Please do let me know if you need any further clarification. Kind Regards
Ziya Khan | APNR Partners | Accountant, Suite 1A, FHL Properties, 41 Gladstone Rd, Suva, Ph : +679 3307174 | +679 3307175."

As per decree, there is no requirement for the auditors to be CPP. As long as they are members of Fiji Institute of Accountants: "The accounts of every political party shall be audited annually by an auditor certified by the Fiji Institute of Accountants and shall be submitted to the Registrar within 3 months after the end of each financial year, who shall publish the accounts in the Gazette and in the media, and the costs of any such publication shall be paid by or recovered from the political party"

Hypocrisy

What about bainimarama govt not producing any auditor general report the entire eight years they were in power illegally? Then realized the reason when report was finally published after the election- widespread abuse and unaccountability. It stinks of hypocrisy

The Political Parties Decree put in place by the Bainimarama- Khaiyum dictatorship in Fiji in 2013 had one main aim : to harass and hound opposition political parties. NFP is a victim of political persecution by the same dictatorship now masquerading as " true democracy". NFP suspension has nothing to do with ensuring good democratic governance. It is political persecution - pure and simple.

This whole CHOR Party Sarkar is ONLY there because of Khaiyum's FRAUD 2013 Constitution of Khaiyum. The FRAUD Constitution is an IMPOSED document which does not reflect the general will of the People of Fiji. The rules of the election were not endorsed by the People of Fiji - The People did not even vote for their representative but some meaningless numbers, collated by a computer programmed in favour of a particular Party. - controlled by a Puppet SOE powered by electronic voting systems which were questionable and confusing to all parties including Bainimarama's CHOR Party. There were many, many instances of clear "conflicts of Interests" and disenfranchisement of citizens and parties, including IP thuggery which also renders the whole elections as dicey.

What the FRAUD Khaiyum's Constitution has achieved is a phony 'electronic democracy' and a Chor Party Sarkar with a bearded Puppet PM and a CHOR AG.

And now this show of sheer vindictive arrogance by this installed Puppet SOE is a bit OTT, don't you think...?

The decree says that the accountants must be ‘satisfied’ accountants. As such, only two accountants in Fiji qualify – Aunty Bano and Uncle Patel.

The whole problem with FIA is that its Act has not been reviewed for the last 18 years! It will now take such a public incident such as this to bring out the fact that a bunch of Asians and white men are running that place now like the Seeto's, Apteds and assisted by the draconian Shri Lankan Fareed. Such outdated laws require for example graduate students of Accounting from Universities to work in professional Accounting Firms for a number of years first before they can be certified as CA's in Fiji. Even those that come out and join Auditor General's office for years still do not count when they apply. They still need to comply with that rule of working for private public Accounting Firms like KPMG for example. What a joke. Certainly looks like FIA wants to hold their piece of pie only for certain individuals. Why do you think Chartered Accountants are lacking in Fiji??

Editor,
Fijileaks and Fiji politics followers will recognise the political trend highlighted in this story.
We learn from Reuters 1 Feb article ' Former Iranian president criticises hardliners for eliminating rivals' that ex- president Akbar Rafsanjani on Monday criticised the disqualification of reformist candidates by hardliners from national elections later this month, deepening the dispute between the two factions.
The Guard Council, a vetting body made up of clerics and jurists, excluded thousands of parliamentary hopefuls including the grandson of the first Supreme Leader who had returned from Exile in France after the 1979 revolution.
" Who decided you are qualified to judge the others? Who gave you the right to take all the guns, and have all the Friday prayer platform and run state television?" Rafsanjani questioned, referring to the hardliners in power.
Notice the parallel ?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

We thought all those 'decrees of disgrace' has been done with. Those belong to the awe-full DICTATOR days - conceived by the evilest AG in the whole universe.

But we have attained democracy -have we not ? What kind of democracy bans a political party from the Parliament ? - A very dicey democracy this.

Professor Biman should not bow down to this childish demand... and let this clown puppet Saneen de-register Fiji's oldest political party...and let the Game begin (some new game).

Indeed, the NFP is the oldest surviving Political Party in Fiji.

We challenge the SOE, Aiyaz's cousin and puddle Saneen to de-register them. That would be good for FLP.

Editor,
We learn from The Telegraph article ' Almost one million investors lose 5.3 billion pounds in massive China Ponzi scam' ( 1 Feb ) that police used two mechanical diggers for 20 hours to retrieve 1,200 account books that were buried six feet underground as part of the investigation into one of the biggest financial frauds in the country's history.
A total of 21 people were arrested at Ezubao, the company at the centre of the scam.
Any such companies and characters plying their unscrupulous trade in the " investor friendly " environment provided by the Bainimarama government in Fiji ?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

300 mistakes! That is a record! But I think Mr Whip should have been given some legal assistants to help him out since its difficult to incorporate all submissions into the huge document. With the huge budget the AG's office has, couldn't some be invested into proof-reading before publishing? Believe me, its a confusion creating mechanism by ASK to impose penalties on companies for non-compliance, since its extreme difficult to read the companies act properly. Guess we need better local-registered legal draftsmen than accountants lol!

Editor,
We read in The Forward article ' Tired of mean-spirited politics? We are, too! ' ( 2 Feb ) the following :
" ... We live in an age of increasing polarisation and mean-spiritedness in the public sphere, particularly in an election year. Sensationalism and invective may yield more clicks and " likes " than reasoned analysis, but they dumb down our discourse, inflict damage on our collective psyche, and lead people to disengage from important discussion...
The Forward is an antidote to the frenzied noise found elsewhere. In our pages you'll find thoughtful analysis, meticulously researched stories, and fearless investigative journalism ... that respect your intelligence ".
This is what one gets in Fijileaks and other alternative social media compared to the sycophantic crap in the mainstream Fiji media.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu
