Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama, in an interview yesterday, alleged that The People’s Alliance Party founding member, Ajay Bhai Amrit, had asked for the forced removal of the Laisenia Qarase-led Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua Government.
In an interview with the Fiji Sun, Mr Bainimarama addressed a number of issues ranging from his health, PAP’s policies, a union of PAP with the National Federation Party and Mr Amrit’s involvement in politics. Fiji Sun met Mr Rabuka in Suva and asked him questions on this. He said to send him questions on email.
“I want to go on record to say, Ajay Amrit, at a dinner with the business community, asked me in front of them to remove the Qarase Government because of the Bills. He said he was speaking on behalf of the Gujarati community.”
The Bills referred to here are the controversial Qoliqoli and Reconciliation, Tolerance, and Unity Bills, which was pushed through by Mr Qarase’s cabinet.
“So, all of you SDL supporters who have since moved to SODELPA and now with PAPi (People’s Alliance Party), there’s this man. You should not trust him and all those who brought him into the party.
