Another double standard: One teacher is sacked for locking a student in a fridge but another, a chamcha of Khaiyum, is still teaching!

Why am I not surprised? All power in the country is concentrated in one hand, literally. Legislature, Executive, Judiciary, and now even Corrections and the 4th Estate - are all controlled from one office. This is our new Fiji. That is why it is so very urgent that we get rid of this new Fiji and put in place the Fiji we all can be proud of.

FFP is full of double standard. First its ASK who contravened Electoral Decree by falsifying his returns and FICAC did not charged him but NFP was suspended and another SODELPA MP's case still on going for failing to declare his liabilities. Then Koya et al couldnt get loan so brought in legislation to scrape data bureau. Then Arseneel sudhakar threaten victor lal yet police didnt charge eventhough report was lodged with evidence but nothing happened yet a common man who post a comment is charged. All double standards in new Fiji. One law is for ASK gang other law is for common man. What a joke this new Fiji has become. May God bless Fiji

Nobody should be surprised because this is the natural order of things in a dictatorship : two rules - one for the friends of the dictator and one for his foes and ordinary folks. In the case of the former they are exempt from the law no matter how serious their transgression . Keep murder minister Bala Sala in mind here. In the case of the latter the law is even cynically used to hound them no matter how relatively minor the breach. This is indeed the " New Fiji " the twin dictators Bainimarama and Khaiyum have designed under the pretext of building a " better Fiji ". Fiji has never in its history had such rotten rulers.

Editor,
Wrong People in Parliament
John George tells us " Bowing out of parliament by Clive Palmer[ the Australian version of Donald Trump] is one of the few positives that can be said about the institution for some time. In his short time in the parliament, Palmer has disgraced the place over and over again. He has also made a laughing stock of our parliamentary system . Let's hope those who elected him make sure they don't repeat the mistake"
(The Australian 6/5).
Are there any Clive Palmer kind of characters in the Fijian Parliament who " disgrace the place"?
Will those who elected such unfit people to parliament " make sure they don't repeat the mistake"?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Multiple standards are the order of the day. You can be charged for farting now but not be charged for making a bomb. You can jump police recruitment queues if you are related to a police. Or stand in the queue for hours. You can escape convictions for drug offenses when the assessors do not find you guilty, or be jailed for drug offenses even if assessors find you not guilty. You can receive tax concession if you are a financier of a certain political party or you can see your business destroyed by tax raids every 6 months. And I havent spoken of what you can do if you are borne into a certain social/religious group. We live these multiple laws every day.

I can already sense that they want nothing more than have FFP all over government and its respective agencies due to how they're infamous for the occasional double-standards they like to put up.
