MP Ashneel Sudhakar has been confirmed as the Government’s new whip.
Sudhakar who is also the chairman for the parliamentary standing committee on Justice, Human Rights and Law will also now stand in as an alternate committee member for government on the various other committees.
Primarily, Sudhakar will sit on the Public accounts committee taking over from his predecessor Semi Koroilavesau who has taken up the Employment Minister portfolio.

Naupoto remains Acting RFMF Commander

Commodore Viliame Naupoto’s stint as the Acting Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces has been extended by President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau based on advice from the Constitutional Offices Commission.
A government statement confirms Commodore Naupoto will remain the RFMF Commander until such time as a substantive appointment is made to the position.
The Constitutional Offices Commission has also approved that the position of the Commander of the RFMF be advertised so an appointment can be made in the near future.
The post will be advertised in the media from next week.
