Thank you UNICEF for responding to the educational needs of the children in Fiji with such an enormous and tangible assistance. You show you care.

A big Vinaka Vaka Levu to the Unicef. Thank You!

Hopefully, Unicef is also able to monitor that these very needy donations for the children of Fiji - do not become "Goodies" for vote buying for this very unethical government of Fiji.

The Minister Education and Minister Bhatnagar Trump would have done well to thank 'the workers of the world' whose taxes have enabled this great help to Fiji's children.

In fairness we should give praise where it is due. The UNICEF wala said in all the countries she has visited, none prioritized education as highly as Fiji did after a disaster. That's high praise indeed. Kudos to education minister Mahendra Reddy. My opinion of him is changing. He seems very dedicated to education and an he is an achiever in education.

I hope you publish my comment in the interest of journalistic balance Victor.

Why is Minister receiving the package? Isnt it a norm in democracies for PS to deal with these matters? Jhumka's favourites have destroyed the core of democracy - separation of powers. That is what we learnt at Uni. These fellows have corrupted the system so much that cleaning up will require another cleanup campaign

Jumkas comments in favour of
mahendra reddy makes interesting reading. They look eye to eye.!!
Just like the past governments in Fiji, Politicians everywhere in the world are crooked.
Thats why we have the police army and the prisons department to provide the necessary check and balance. The judiciary sits above these intitutions to ensure that separation.
It is incestuous to not have that separation.
One does not have to be a member of UNICEF to see that! !! The question that needs to be asked is what have we learned from being amongst the better nations who prioritises education!!!!

Fiji has been hit by a category 5 cyclone. If Dr. Reddy was not hardworking or genuine, he would be sitting back in his airconed office like SODELPA. Instead he is on the ground working or raking in loads of Education material. This shows he cares enough to sacrifice his luxuries in order to get all students back in school. On behalf of my children, I thank UNICEF and Dr. Reddy for their efforts.
