Dear Editor,

I have been reading your exposure of corruption at FNU. I like the courage of FNU staff to challenge the misdoings.

We need same at Uni of Fiji. Many terrible things are happening. This year, MBBS students were allowed to graduate without meeting all criteria set for MBBS degree award. Staff here say that MBBS results were not even presented in the Senate. Registrar bulldozed his way and demanded students be awarded.

Registrar is a pundit, with no academic experience - his name is Kamlesh Arya. W[h]at kind of a University is this?

Even worse than FNU? Oh yes, Kamlesh Arya demands everyone call him "Ambassador" Kamlesh Arya.

Uni Fiji MBBS doctors would take their chronically ill to the Pundit Ambassador to pray for their patients’ happy life after.

The quality of doctors and dentists graduating from FNU and University of Fiji is pathetic. Just pay your fees and one is sure to graduate.

It won’t be long before the Ambassador Registrar Pundit also bans Fijileaks off the Uni-Fiji campus.

University of Fiji should be investigated especially when they don't keep proper accounts. They are levying charges on students for insurance. Where is all this money going? Chor university and Chor ambassador

If true that Registrar Amb Arya forced these students to graduate, then very sad. For many years, FSM was embroiled in similar practices. It ended with Professor David Brewster when he exposed these. But this also ended his Deanship too. He wrote all these in a book which is available at FNU and USP bookshops. We were pleased when Dr. Ganesh took over and demanded quality and reforms in MBBS and medical training. Many senior people refused to cooperate until Dr. Ganesh came hard on them. But alas, his reign was cut short by Reddy and Kaiyum and we are back to lecturers missing classes, exam questions given to students before exams (yes, true: MBBS students get a set of questions before the exam and are told to revise these), etc.. We are disgusted with this. The professional staff in FSM, who are in a minority, have no where to turn to. The Health Minister has no idea of Health Ministry needs. Education Minister is too politically motivated and wont touch this matter. Opposition is too concerned with point scoring. A Commission of Inquiry is needed in medical training in Fiji. if not, then we will continue to have doctors prescribe antibiotics for headaches and body pains. Even heir to hot bread chain Samisoni, whose close relative works at FSM could not get a correct diagnosis of his illness! Its very serious matter now.

Bro Mazda no wonder students pass zoom zoom zoom.

This allegation needs to be seriously looked into by Fiji Medical Authority that bars doctors. No wonder new doctors only prescribe panadol with high consultation fees. Sub standard practice needs to be stopped can Fiji Higher Education look into this. How come Fiji Higher Education gave licence to Unifiji to operate. Kamlesh Arya you are a total disgrace.

The education Minister Dr. Reddy had started on reviewing the quality of graduates Esp for teachers. He is on the right track.

What on earth is this politician Mikaele Leawere writing? Such nonsense on Dr. Reddy. He like his fellow mates are so misconceived.most of his senior officials are itaukei. Only 2 of his directors are Indo Fijians. 11 are Itaukei. His PS is ITAUKEI. All divisional heads and district heads are itaukei. His PS is not a puppet. There is a committee which appoints people based on qualification. Dr. Reddy does not do it himself. Mikael has to wake up from his dream and state facts. Not cook stories to defame hardworking ministers. I hope AG wakes up and drags him to Court for libel.

I thought it is quite alright for the University to appoint an ambassador. The role involves persistent false promotion , telling lies at various forums, marce polo of government authorities, embezzling university funds, derailing established processes , becoming a laughing stock among students etc etc. The council may have seen the need for it and sanctioned such appointment.

Whats more serious is graduating students without completion. Is the ambassador qualified to also hold the position of a Registrar. This is a specialist position. It would good if fijileaks can do an investigation on this and reveal to all. Is the VC subservient to that position to allow actions to affect academic integrity.

The people of this country need properly qualified doctors and if cannot be done properly why allow for duplication as FSM has been producing doctor graduates for so long.

The minister should quit.

See every students gets a chance to study then why hinder. Some students cant afford to go to FSM esp the students from west. Its a good opportunity for all to grow.UPSM is equally as FSM. Just cause of one registrar dont blame the lecturers and students

Few years ago the saga of dentists graduating from FNU are now in private practice in Fiji. They were having the exam papers before the exam date.
Be careful if you go and see a dentist with qualification from FNU particularly local Indo Fijian dentists.

All hospitals in Fiji should be rebranded to First Aid hospital. Only get pandol and amoxocil.
Wait for hours before one get chance to see a doctor.
Go to main hospitals and see people waiting for hours.

Can Fiji leaks investigate Fiji Immigration department especially director Nemani Vuiwaqa. He has employed people who are not qualified who are his family or from his village.
Totally inefficient service . See the number of Chinese who have entered the country since he has been the director. He is totally incompetent for the post.
How many Indians work in Fiji Immigration and how many were recruited since Nemani became the director. He is totally corrupt . He must be removed to bring creditabity to Fiji Immigration Department.
Visit and see queues of people waiting for hours. Now no passport is available which shows he is fit for the post of director.

Nemani Vuniwaqa the director of Fiji Immigration is hardly in his office. I was suprised to see him and his group of Immigration staff visit companies every week and have lunch etc whenever a company request for a work permit. The visit is simply to enjoy and have free food and drink provided by company. Sorry the companies have no choice but to feed these thugs.

Nemani Vuniwaqa can justify why so many Chinese massage parlours around Suva. Some parlours have about 5 Chinese working. How these Chinese have got work permit?

On what basis so many Chinese are given work permits to run small shops. Go to Victoria Parade and see a company Lucy Trading!
I wonder why these foreigners are allowed to do such simple business which can be done by locals Fiji Citizen. Can Nemani Vuniwaqa tell Fiji on what basis these chives have been given work permit? How much investment they have done for them to be given work permit.
These Chinese are here to just get Fiji citizen !!!
