In May last year Fijileaks published various leaks that were passed onto us from inside USP Vice-Chancellor and President Rajesh Chandra's Office. Now, it emerges that that following our stories, Chandra embarked on a witch-hunt, accusing or confronting, all and sundry of being behind the leaks. In the end he zeroed in on Dr Dilawar Grewal, Vice-Preisdent Administration, as revealed in the "MINUTES OF MEETING TO REVIEW THE PROBATIONARY PERFORMANCE OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT ADMINISTRATION HELD AT THE CAHNELLERY BOARDROOM ON WEDNESDAY 27TH MAY 2015 AT 3PM", and obtained by Fijileaks. We will reveal the contents of the Minutes and also expose how he demanded that Grewal cut all CONTACT with a prominent politician if he wanted his contract to be renewed. Among those who feature in this sordid saga are the Education Minister Mahendra Reddy, a Tongan academic, and others!

Yep, that is how headmaster Ji Rajesh Chandra operates. He is a bully at heart. Under his leadership, if you can call it that, a culture of bullying has taken hold at usp, with threats and intimidation against more junior staff the order of the day. Rajesh has turned USP into a really miserable place.

USP's Veeru Chacha Rajesh Chandra is indeed a big bully. He has demoralised staff and snatched academic freedom. He is neck deep indulged in nepotism and appointment of his cronies. He never questions the performance of his chamchas yet he is harsh on others. His double standard decision reflects his chamelean like character. His boy arsewin raj was non performer yet he did not say anything. Arsewin did not complete any projects at USP. Veeru chacha also recruite sairusi as HR Director who was junior manager at Fiji Airways whereas meritious ones were not even shortlisted for interview. If anyone challenges veeru chacha's decision then veeru chacha becomes veeru dada and tries all his best to witch hunt and terminate their employment and then uses jon apted to defend usp. USP under veeru chacha's leadership has become a circus.

Monday is going to be another standard tune that will be played by the maharaja and his chamchas at USP. One will find Jai hovering around him, union seller Govinda with the other suckers like Bhibya, FSTE spineless lots and others listening to Rajesh at a staff forum. Unlike what forums used to be years ago, fewer turn up, those who come sit quietly and let him carry on harping about what a great university we have. No one questions about grievances, quality, ethics, pays, promotions, rights, procedures. Rings a bell! USP is a reflection of current Fiji. All are just slavering away without a word or any body of query. Alas. Mission accomplished by the dictators everywhere.

Every man and his dog at usp knew Rajesh's Chamcha Govinda Lingam would promoted professor for selling out staff union and loyalty to Rajesh.

If Angela Jokhan can become dean and asssociate professor, than Lingham can become professor...in Rajesh Chandra's corrupt and cronyistic world all this possible of course.

Vili, my inclusion of Rajesh Chandra on the lust of likely candidates for PS Foreign Affsirs was allegorical or tounge in cheek,in fact my whole list was such and it was done to highlight that the recruitment process was far from scientific and neutral. Are you that stupid not to see that in my post? As is the practise for top public service appointments a shortlist of four names is submitted by the Public Service Commission to the PM, in this case Khaiyum, who then picks out his choice. Chandra is too useful to Khaiyum as VC and head of the thought police at this regional institution than as Foreign Secretary. And Vili nice try but please go back to doing what you do best and that is tabetabe or bhanau.

What kind of leader is Rajesh Chandra? A leader who is loved and respected or a leader who is feared and despised? One clue is ask yourself what kind of leader Khaiyum and Bainimarama are. Rajesh Chandra is the same kind.

Interesting and quite ridiculous that the central figures involved in the FNU and USP sagas and tragedies have acted in exactly the same ways and most of it just sheer lust for power and money. In a wider extent, exactly reflecting the mode of National leadership and the way this Govt. has dictated events in Parliament. All 3 leaderships of FNU, USP and Govt. thrive on common grounds.

Nothing could be further from the truth. It was Dilawar Grewal who was the bully. He bullied whereever he would go. Screaming and cussing staff. Don't know why they brought him in the first place. He was always wanting Rajesh's job and NEVER had the Pacific at heart. One should wonder how he got fired from Kansas Uni and then USP. Send the guy back to whereever he came from!

Thanks Justin,

Professor Chandra has been my direct supervisor for number of years. He is not only a great leader, mentor and coach but a wonderful person at heart. My heart bleeds to read some of the comments made against him.
Professor Chandra believes in capacity building and he has added significant value to USP and the community by supporting and enabling the execution of strategy through building organisational capacity. In all my deals with Professor Chandra, I have witnessed him being authentic, honest, fair and just as well as highly transparent.
I have never come across Professor Chandra having greed for fame. He always shared his achievements with the University.
There is a possibility that the lack of communication, misunderstanding and collaboration is causing doubt in staff members mind about Professor Chandra's leadership style.

For success of USP, it is important for all of us to stop pointing fingers at people but to work together with genuine love for the community, USP and its clients!
