We cannot STOP at 2006. We sympathise with SODELPA's Anare Jale for being kicked out of PSC by Bainimarama but in 2000 he was threatening to retaliate against Fiji Teachers Union and FPSA after the Speight Coup

ANARE JALE

*In September 2020, he was roundly denounced in Parliament for racial attack on Aiyaz Khaiyum, saying the then Attorney-General was NOT wanted by the i-Taukei community.
*He was clearly inciting hatred against Khaiyum by playing up the i-Taukei Card. After negotiating a Coalition on behalf of SODELPA, Jale wants Bainimarama to apologise to the people he dismissed during the 2006 coup.

*He was responding to Bainimarama’s new year message where he called on Sitiveni Rabuka and the coalition government to follow the 2013 Constitution, the laws and processes, and to respect the independence of institutions when dealing with the employment contracts of senior civil servants.
“He (Bainimarama) terminated us and forced us out of office during the 2006 coup and now he is saying that the new coalition government should follow the law,” Jale said.
“Has he forgotten what he did to us? “I think it was very unfair of him to be calling for the coalition government to follow the law when he had not followed the law and made things very difficult for us.”
*Jale said he as well as others who were dismissed by Bainimarama were not compensated for not serving out the remaining terms of their contract.
“We appealed to court to get compensation for the un-served parts of our contracts, most of the permanent secretaries had a period of up to four years left in their contracts. But he put up a decree that no legal action should be taken against the government for anything related with the coup that he conducted. “When we were taken out, it was a strategic move by him as we were then unemployed and couldn’t get an income to survive. He needs to apologise to us and compensate us for our unspent parts of our contracts.”

POLITICS MAKE STRANGE BEDFELLOWS:
We were wondering why the FLP leader, overthrown in two COUPS, was not focusing his attacks on PAP and SITIVENI RABUKA. Now, he has been approached by Rabuka to help with the Sugar Industry.
*We were NOT surprised that during the campaign Chaudhry focused his attack on FFP, clearly smarting from the fact that he was convicted and fined for concealing $2million in his Sydney bank account.
*The revelation by our Editor-in-Chief in the Fiji Sun in 2008 had led to the abduction, torture and deportation of the late Fiji Sun publisher Russell Hunter out of Fiji. Bainimarama launched a vicious attack on behalf of Chaudhry against our Founding Editor-in-Chief.
*In 2008, Chaudhry was Bainimarama's Interim Minister of Finance and SUGAR. Now Rabuka wants him as Special Advisor. When the tax story hit the streets on the morning of 24 February 2008, Rabuka burst out in jubilation, congratulating Fiji Sun Editor Samisoni Kaikaivalu with whom he was playing GOLF that morning. Memory has deserted RABUKA
