Now that's really asking TOO MUCH to call on the local journalists to follow up the story. The story would not have seen the light of day if it was not exposed in the social media. Local journalism has been reduced to regurgitating what the mob in power tell them, full stop.
They practice what is called yellow journalism.

Fijileaks, you asking local journalists to follow up on this cyclone aid butako story . That won't happen. What happens these days is that local journalists wait for Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum or Bainimarama or any of their cronies to let out a fart and they run off to publish it. That's what passes off as local journalism in today's Fiji.

Hey guys, this forum will do just fine for now. Our journos just don't have the leeway, space, stamina and freedom to publish at will, for we all know that associated danger and no class thugs linger at all corners of our little world. The photos tell it all and these thieves will now go covert but quite a few must be very sorry indeed for being caught with their pants down!!

Under the present leadership, thieves and corrupt people will be passed of without any charge, while honest people will be hounded. Every one is following the leaders - Leaders are corrupt and make money on the side. Followers start doing the same. Now every rung of the society is getting filled with decaying moralists. They will preach high morals but do exactly the opposite, like Khaiyum. But history shows that such Khaiocracy breeds its own seeds for its own destruction.

Monkey see Monkey do - this is what is happening in Fiji. But the beauty of it all is that the more Kahiyum accepts such conduct, the more seeds he sows for his own destruction.
