WRONG HERO HAILED. Police sources claim their boss is not the real hero who confronted Flagstaff robbers but 71 year-old USP lecturer!

When 5 men entered the Distill outlet in Flagstaff and threatened the staff on Thursday night, of course the Police Commissioner was having dinner there but when the event transpired, there were two lecturers from USP also having dinner there and one of the senior expariate lecturers who is 71 years old first stood up to confront the thieves by picking up the chair. The Police Commissioner just stood behind the lecturer and ducked when the thieves backed away threatening to haul bottles.

As they backed a bit after the 71 year old lecturer stood his ground only then the commissioner of police stepped forward to state he was commissioner of police and he was merely graced when bottles were hauled.

The real hero is the 71 year old lecturer from USP, and the newspapers have been used to spread propaganda for the commissioner as his contract is coming to an end and he has already stated to Minister of Dfence requesting an extension which is also in breach of the Constitution as its clearly states that the compol must retire at age of 65 years.  Fijileaks police source

Thank you Fijileaks for drawing our attention to this apparent distortion of facts by the cowered mainstream media in Fiji which is now mostly reduced to propagandising for the Bainimarama government and the miracles it's key figures are performing.
It's a shameless cowardly media.

The Com Pol in an interview with Richard Ewart of Pacific Beat, ABC Aust had this to say "...I grabbed a folding chair and attacked them and was followed by other guests.." and he goes on to say that he was hit by a "full bottle of wine on the head with serious injuries...I went down and could not proceed with my defense..". So pray please tell us who is lying. The Com Pol would not stoop low to tell an untruth. The 30 odd guests at the dinner would surely know Chiku.

So there were " 30 odd guests at the dinner " . And, how many did the Fiji media interview to compile their news report? No, they were not interested in that. They were only interested in projecting the Pol com as a hero which is what was required of them by the gang running the country.

Editor,
Ha aha ! At last some of the predatory sharks in the FIFA mafia have been rounded up courtesy of a thorough US investigation into the web of FIFA corruption ( ' FIFA corruption charges: senior officials arrested amid World Cup voting inquiry ' the guardian 27/05 ).
That' s what the Police Commissioner in Fiji should have concentrated on during his term in office - round up the big crooks in Fiji and haul them to court.
His officers were rounding up street beggars instead!
His working holiday in Fiji is over. He should return home to South Africa and enjoy the retirement he was meant to be enjoying when he was hired by the Bainimarama dictatorship in Fiji.
Sincerely,

Military and Police forces of Fiji are cowards and commissioner the puppert. They are only good at humiliating learned and poor citizens who do their best to contribute. The Gov't lacks ears and makes rules that will make them to win next general election. Fiji will not progress with regressive media degree still in place.

Biman, Druanidalo and Prem bring up best debates in the parliament but get hijacked by Gov't who where and are still the super thugs of Fiji.

The old, unfit and gutlless Commissioner hid himself under the table while the USP heros tackled the intruders. The media and Gov't of Fiji sucks.

The reality is the boys are just towing from their master. The recent police sting operation which culminated in a stone throwing episode- is not a joke. O Lord! how can we expect to be protected when our security force , starting from top down are acting so cowardly in public.

Editor,
Commenting on the NYT editorial board article ' Fifa's Corruption Stains World Soccer ' ( 27 May ), Frank ( only name given ) writes :
"George Washington was right. What did the First President have to do with this scandal? He knew that over long permanence in office is not good for the institution, from country to organisations. Long tenures create autocratic rule which translates into corruption.
Blatter was too long in office and he should not be re- elected. Actually he should resign pending what I suspect will be his indictment. The first reform of FIFA should be limiting the number of terms a president can have".
What Frank says about FIFA and the long stay in office translating into autocratic rule and corruption is true of all power holders.
Sincerely,

The real story is the COMPOL thought he is superman's brother and he fell down while putting on his underwear outside his trousers and got hurt. The would be robbers fell down laughing and left without anything.

One deserves a dong on the head if one stands up to robbers to say "I am the Commissioner of Police, Please leave".

The propaganda is just too overwhelming that Greonwald hid behind the "actual hero" in a USP lecturer and yet takes credit for nothing but cowardice (with all due respect to the South African).

It seems the media is afraid of ruining the reputation of the commissioner while shunning the real heroes who actually did something instead of backing off as many would do.

Looks like Fiji Stunk isn't the only media outlet who stooped so low with their bias, so disappointing as always.
